You can use ABO to screen for fifteen to twenty benefits (or more) depending on your location. Unlike state websites and portals, ABO screens for federal, state, local and private benefits. ABO also provides an estimate for the amount of benefits that the family should receive for benefits such as food stamps, energy assistance, and cash assistance. ABO uses a sophisticated rules management system, allowing ABO to give you very precise estimates of eligibility and allotments. Having accurate information about their eligibility allows families to make educated decisions about what benefits to pursue, and helps you budget your time with your client to provide maximum impact.
After you complete the ABO intake form, you’ll find out what benefits your client’s family will qualify for.
Once a family finds out that they are eligible for benefits, it’s time to apply! ABO provides instructions on how to apply for each benefit, and gives you a head start on completing applications. ABO fills in all the information you’ve already collected, and lets you fill in and save the rest right in the form. Or, if there is an online application available, ABO will help you navigate to the right place.
Completing the Application is just the first step.
ABO is an expert so you don’t have to be! ABO provides a one-page overview of the application process for every benefit. These “Take Aways” provide you and your client a list of each step in the application process, documentation requirements, interview requirements, and information on what to do if problems arise.
